About the role
We’re looking for a Trainee Software Developer to develop the systems to enhance and support a business based in Birmingham. You will be responsible for building and unit testing solutions, and for ensuring successful development to produce an effective IT service.
Remote working is considered.

Key Duties
Take responsibility for the development of user stories.
Deliver agreed artefacts to support understanding and supportability of your deliverables.
Consistently develop high-quality software to committed dates.
Develop unit tests that ensure the delivered component will meet its agreed objectives.
Work closely with the Agile team.
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the current systems to develop practical business solutions.
Adhere to agreed technical standards to promote the quality and effectiveness of IT solutions.
Ensure all tracking tools are kept up to date.

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to learn new technical skills and apply them effectively.
Strong customer focus and teamworking skills.
Qualifications and Experience
Must have achieved a 2:1 degree in a relevant IT subject, or have previous experience in a similar role.
Working Hours
Working 37.5 hours. Remote working is considered.
