Position: Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Kent
Salary: Competitive + car allowance + benefits
A growing main contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in a fast‑paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities, cost plans and tender documentation.
Analyse project requirements and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Manage valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts.
Provide accurate and transparent cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders to clarify requirements and negotiate terms.
Support post‑tender discussions and progression to contract award.
Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Utilise estimating and QS software packages effectively.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally at Senior level.
Strong knowledge of local supply chain and current market rates.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Confident communicator with strong negotiation and reporting abilities.
Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, Building Regulations and health & safety.
Knowledge of contractual procedures and responsibilities
Highly numerate with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex data.
Self‑motivated, professional and able to work independently or as part of a team.
