Head of Surveying

About the role

A leading property consultancy is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Surveying to lead their expanding team in the North East. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to take on a senior leadership role in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of surveyors, ensuring delivery of RICS-compliant valuations of residential properties for purposes such as secured lending, acquisitions, disposals, and portfolio reviews.

  • Set departmental standards for valuation quality, market analysis, and reporting, ensuring consistency and regulatory compliance.

  • Strengthen and expand client relationships, delivering exceptional service and identifying opportunities for new business.

  • Oversee mentoring and APC guidance for junior surveyors, fostering professional development and team growth.

  • Drive business development and represent the consultancy at networking and industry events.

  • Monitor local market trends, legislation, and industry best practices to inform strategy and maintain competitive edge.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align surveying operations with broader business goals.

Requirements:

  • MRICS or FRICS qualified and a RICS Registered Valuer.

  • Proven leadership experience in residential property valuation and team management.

  • In-depth knowledge of valuation methodologies, compliance frameworks, and market dynamics.

  • Effective communicator with strong written reporting abilities and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Skilled in valuation software and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as needed.
