CARBON REDUCTION POLICY STATEMENT
NRG, is committed to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to the UK Government’s target of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
As a recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) and talent solutions provider, we recognise our responsibility to operate sustainably, minimise our carbon footprint, and influence positive change within our supply chain and client partnerships.
This Carbon Reduction Policy Statement sets out how we manage and reduce our environmental impact, the progress we have made so far, and our ongoing goals for improvement.
Measuring and Monitoring Our Environmental Impact:
We are proud to have achieved independent environmental accreditation through our Blue Report (2024), which measures and benchmarks our carbon footprint and operational sustainability. This process allows us to track our energy consumption, waste management, and travel-related emissions annually, forming the foundation of our carbon reduction plan.
In addition, we benefit from being located at Quorum Park, which has robust ESG and sustainability initiatives, including:
On-site renewable energy usage and energy-efficient building systems.
Electric vehicle charging points and cycle-to-work facilities.
A site-wide recycling and waste management programme.
Support for biodiversity and green space preservation.
These shared facilities and practices support our ability to operate with minimal environmental impact.
Minimising Environmental Impact:
NRG integrates sustainability into its day-to-day business operations through:
Hybrid working arrangements to reduce commuting and energy usage.
A paperless recruitment process, using digital applications, e-signatures, and secure document storage.
Conducting virtual interviews to reduce candidate and client travel.
Using digital identity verification (IDVT) to complete right-to-work checks where possible, removing the need for physical document exchange.
Recycling waste across our office spaces and promoting sustainable behaviours among staff.
Selecting suppliers and partners who share our environmental and ethical values.
Carbon Reduction Goals:
Our current and future goals are designed to be achievable and measurable within the next three to five years. NRG is committed to:
Goal | Target Date | Actions to Achieve |
Reduce business travel-related CO₂ emissions by 30% (compared to 2023 baseline). | 2027 | Continue hybrid working; prioritise video meetings; encourage low-carbon transport. |
Reduce office energy consumption by 20%. | 2026 | Improve energy efficiency and ensure renewable energy supply through Quorum Park. |
Achieve 100% digital recruitment documentation and eliminate unnecessary printing. | 2025 | Fully transition to paperless systems across all teams. |
Offset residual emissions through verified carbon offset projects (e.g. tree planting, community schemes). | From 2027 | Partner with a recognised carbon offset provider. |
Achieve net zero operational emissions. | 2035 | Continuous reduction, annual measurement, and verified offsetting. |
Progress to Date:
Achieved Blue Report environmental accreditation (2024), evidencing our carbon measurement and reduction progress.
Reduced office energy consumption and waste through Quorum Park’s sustainability framework.
Transitioned to a hybrid and paperless operating model, significantly reducing commuting and paper waste.
Eliminated printing of recruitment documentation and adopted digital workflows across all departments.
Governance and Review:
Responsibility for delivering this policy rests with our senior leadership team. Progress is reviewed annually, with updates published through internal communications and shared with clients upon request.
We will continue to measure, report, and improve our environmental performance in line with best practice and UK Government guidance.
Statement of Commitment:
NRG is committed to operating responsibly, protecting the environment, and working towards a low-carbon future. We believe that small, consistent actions across our business and supply chain make a meaningful contribution to wider sustainability goals.
