Salary – up to £23,000 (Full-time – Monday to Friday)

NRG are working with the leading provider of British Sign Language (BSL) and other Deaf and Deafblind qualifications in the UK in search of a talented Marketing Communications Graduate to join their team. This role is based in Durham.

The role is responsible for building strong, effective marketing and PR campaigns to drive the reputation and income for Signature. Working alongside the marketing team to shape and influence future campaign and plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development of a communication strategy, working on our brand messaging to deliver effective and timely communications and PR campaigns. Ensuring the Signature tone of voice is kept in all external communications.

  • Develop, grow and maintain relationships with media and other appropriate organisations to manage the brand and ensure consistency of message.

  • Identifying opportunities for media innovation, making sure that these can be aligned to strategic objectives.

  • Support the Marketing Co-ordinator to develop partnerships across the sector, as well as wider organisations.

  • Create written and visual content for social media and our websites including creating new copy for web pages, updating graphics and banners where necessary working towards our SEO growth strategy.

  • Assist with the creation of our publication materials, to promote Signature, British Sign Language but also potential policy campaigns, using our inhouse resources and external supplier. This includes appropriate market research activity.

  • Assist with the planning and attend internal and external events.

  • Work with the marketing team to create video materials that will be used to promote the Signature brand, including on social media, podcast, as well as creating content for commercial products keeping in mind the Signature brand guidelines.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • General education levels to GCSE/O and A level or equivalent.

  • Working towards, or educated to Degree level or equivalent.

  • Ability to get to the heart of the problem, plan a solution, and see it through effectively to completion.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with a wide variety of marketing channels to create integrated campaigns – including PR, social media, events and market research.

  • Knowledge and experience of designing marketing collateral – use of Adobe design packages essential.

  • Knowledge and confidence in working with digital software and platforms.

  • Strong initiative, drive and enthusiasm.

  • Flexible and adaptable.

  • Creative, dynamic and innovative.

  • A positive team player with the ability to think and act on ones own initiative.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels.

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills, specifically written English.

  • A high level of proof-reading accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

Post is subject to a 6-month probationary period, receipt of references satisfactory to us.

Employees are expected to complete the following Signature courses within 2 years of commencing employment:

  • Level 2 Award in British Sign Language.

  • Level 1 Award in Deaf Awareness and Communication
