An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Generalist to join a public sector organisation on a temporary basis until the end of December 2025. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in providing operational HR advice and guidance, has experience leading HR projects, and thrives in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Please note: previous experience working within a public sector environment is essential for this role.
About the Role
This is a broad and hands on HR generalist position, supporting both strategic and operational activity across the organisation. A key focus will be managing day to day people matters, employee relations, and contributing to organisational development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted HR partner, advising on a wide range of HR issues including policy, employee relations, pay, and organisational change
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders, including trade unions, to ensure transparency
- Support wider HR activity, including change programmes, policy development, and workforce planning
About You:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
- Previous experience in a public sector environment is essential
- Strong HR generalist background, with experience managing a broad portfolio of people matters
- Good understanding of employment law, and HR compliance
- Confident managing stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
- High level of attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
- Comfortable using HRIS and Microsoft Office tools
