People Partner

About the role

Are you an experienced HR professional with a passion for fairness, equality, and robust job evaluation practices? We are working with a well-respected public sector organisation in the North East to recruit a People Partner to lead a major review project around Job Evaluation on a fixed term 12 month contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact by shaping a transparent and fair job framework, all while working within a supportive and values-driven HR team.

What will you be doing:

  • Lead, coordinate, and deliver a large scale job evaluation project.

  • Provide expert HR and job evaluation advice to managers and stakeholders.

  • Work closely with colleagues, trade unions, and external partners to meet key project milestones.

  • Manage a small project team including a People Advisor and People Coordinator.

  • Ensure full compliance with employment legislation, equal pay requirements, and internal policies.

What are they looking for looking for:

  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience).

  • Hands-on experience with job evaluation schemes , ideally Gauge+ and within the public or emergency services sector.

  • Proven HR advisory or business partnering background.

  • Strong understanding of equal pay principles and employment law.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and organisational skills.

  • A strong personal commitment to fairness, dignity, and inclusivity in the workplace.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary: £42,839 – £46,142 per annum

  • Benefits include:
