An exciting opportunity has come up with a leading education institution. They are looking for a Change Communications Officer to join their communications team.
Role
The change communications officer will lead the development of communications plans and delivery of associated operational change communications activity in order to keep staff and students informed, motivated and engaged. You will be expected to provide professional communications expertise, leading - and where appropriate challenging - on a professional approach to communications activity. You will work closely with the Change Management and Corporate Communications Teams to ensure communications activity is timely, appropriately targeted and aligned with strategic corporate communications activity.
Responsibilities
Developing and delivering change comms plans.
Ensuring the communications activity for change projects/ related change initiatives is aligned with strategic corporate comms
Being the communications interface between CCRM and Change Management Programme, liaising with wider internal colleagues related to specific change projects / initiatives as required (ie HR, Finance etc)
Managing and delivering overall change communications route map on a rolling 12-month basis.
Developing, managing and delivering communications plans to ensure change activity is communicated at a corporate and tactical level effectively and consistently: including – development of key messaging, FAQs, content creation, collateral development, channels selection, audience segmentation, monitoring, evaluation and review / refinement
Manage timescales, track progress, and report on communications deliverables to Head of Change Management and AD Marketing CCRM, including provision of agreed reporting documents for Change Management and CCRM Teams.
Develop and deliver content and collateral in a range of formats and for a range of channels and platforms, including face-to-face, staff and student portals, corporate website (as appropriate), email, social media (as appropriate), video and print.
Prepare, write and adapt strong copy across multiple formats for relevant colleagues to use in presentation to employees in written, presented and /or spoken form
Requirements
Essential
Knowledge of using a range of communications on- and off-line internal and external communications platforms, tools and technologies including email and e-newsletters, social media, and intranet, MS Office suite (including SharePoint)
Knowledge of different approaches to measure and evaluate the performance and success of a communications campaign or approach
Knowledge of approaches to project management and associated stakeholder engagement activity
Excellent writing skills and ability to write within specific guidelines
Ability to write and adapt strong copy and content across multiple formats i.e. written copy; presentations; speeches; scripts.
Experience of developing and delivering editorial and content plans and creating content for a range of platforms, including web, email, social media, print and events
Desirable
Experience of working in a higher education environment
Experience of working, negotiating with and influencing stakeholders at all levels
Experience of managing internal and external comms round critical incidents / crisis situations (including media)
A professional qualification in communications or marketing
