About the role
A leading not-for-profit membership body for councils and social housing providers, are looking to employ an Account Executive/Sales Support Officer, for their office in Sunderland city centre. This role is offered on a 12 month fixed term contract basis, with flexible working available.
The main purpose of the role is to support the Commercial Director and Senior Account Executives manage their portfolio of accounts, contribute to the team financial target and provide general administrative support to the Business Development team.
About the role:
Take responsibility for identified sales leads and identify solutions
Develop customer focused plans
To identify, contact and convert new business opportunities through existing and new business
Maintain accurate member and prospect information
Assist the team with booking of appointments for sales meetings, including setting agendas, booking hotel accommodation and meeting rooms as required
Support with admin tasks including reporting support for the Business Development team, including diary management
Support the team with tracking KPIs to monitor performance
First point of contact for queries through the Procurement email inbox, incoming calls, and website and social media enquiries
About you:
Experience in meeting financial targets and delivery in a sales/business development environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Confidence, tact, and a persuasive manner
Good organisational and time management
The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent understanding of selling and creating packages for potential clients
Understanding of the public sector procurement and efficiency agendas preferrable
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and ability to use and interrogate systems and databases
Full current driving licence
