We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation in the Education sector for an exciting new vacancy, in which you will be the Tax and Compliance Accountant within the Financial Reporting team.
Based in Newcastle City Centre, this role involves hybrid working and has a salary of up to £42,155.

The role:
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you will provide strategic, expert and customer valued taxation information and advice to both internal and external customers including Senior Management, HMRC, and other overseas tax authorities.
Your key duties will include:
Responsible for VAT accounting within the organisation, including quarterly VAT return and preparation of VAT certificates and EC Sales submission.
Responsible for the annual Corporation tax and other statutory HMRC returns.
Provide specialist advice and guidance on direct and indirect tax related issues, including international tax, communicating with external advisors where relevant.
Keep up to date with corporation tax and VAT legislative changes and requirements as well as identification of opportunities for tax efficiencies, as appropriate, through attendance at external events and seeking advice from external taxation experts.
Provide assistance with employment tax compliance and advice in relation to global mobility.
What you need:
Good knowledge of VAT and/or corporation tax.
A positive, inclusive working style, and the ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve results.
Experience of contributing to the development and implementation of efficient and effective working practices.
Qualified CCAB Accountant or Part Qualified with extensive operational experience.
