Job Title: PHP / Laravel Developer

Location: Darlington (Hybrid working)

Salary: Up to £45,000

 

NRG is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with a highly regarded Health and Fitness industry brand as they seek a talented Software Developer who will play a crucial role in developing a vital business system.. This presents an exciting prospect, given our client's substantial growth in their Software Development team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimise MySQL databases, including schema design, indexing, and query optimization.
  • Implement data migration tasks to transfer and synchronize data between different systems and databases.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services to enhance the functionality of existing applications.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Perform unit testing and debugging to identify and resolve software defects in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews to provide feedback on code quality, performance, and adherence to coding standards.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting issues related to PHP applications and MySQL databases.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience using Laravel framework (or another modern framework)
  • Professional experience in PHP / Laravel development and MySQL database management.
  • Strong understanding of MySQL database fundamentals, SQL query optimization, and database normalization.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
