Purchasing Assistant

About the role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised individual to join their team as a Purchasing Assistant temporarily to cover a maternity leave. The Purchasing Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting procurement efforts by assisting with purchasing activities, maintaining accurate records, communicating with personnel and suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in procurement and supply chain management while contributing to the success of our organisation.

Salary: £25,000

Term: 6-12 months (maternity cover)

Responsibilities:

Stock Control: Manage and monitor stock levels efficiently.

Use of Procurement Systems: Utilise Oracle & Equinox procurement systems effectively.

Analysis of Purchase Requisitions: Review and analyse purchase requisitions from operating companies.

Liaison with Personnel and Suppliers: Communicate regularly with personnel and suppliers.

Data Analysis: Analyse data to make informed decisions regarding stock holdings.

Purchase Order Management: Generate purchase orders, track orders, and ensure strict delivery times.

Requirements:

Basic Procurement Knowledge: Understanding of procurement principles.

Previous Procurement Experience: Desirable but not required.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities.
