People Advisor

About the role

We are currently looking for a People Advisor to join one of the UK’s Top 100 law firms who serve local, national and international clients.

This is a permanent, full time role based in Newcastle.

The opportunity:

This is a exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced People Advisor to join an ambitious People Team to support he development and delivery of a professional and proactive people function in line with business objectives.

This role is ideal for someone with solid experience in an advisory or business partner capacity to work closely with managers and employees providing advice and guidance in all areas of people related activity.

You will:

  • Support the Head of People, People Manager and work alongside other members of the team

  • Partner with allocated departments to provide advice and guidance in all areas of people related activity

  • Support n absence management, performance management and change management etc

  • Coach and guide managers, supporting them with decision making and challenging where required to drive positive employee relations across the firm.

  • Provide accurate, timely advice and guidance on HR related queries and cases autonomy and an ability to evaluate risk and assess the escalation of cases where appropriate to the People Manager.

  • Be self -motivated, confident, flexible, and commercial in your approach and have excellent organisational skills.

  • Proven ER experience at advisory or business partner level is essential, as is the ability to understand and translate business requirements into effective HR practice. The successful candidate will also have solid communication skills with demonstrable ability to build credible and strong relationships across a variety of audiences.
