Payroll Advisor

About the role

A growing professional services organisation is looking for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join its friendly, city‑centre based payroll team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys managing varied payrolls, building strong client relationships, and delivering accurate, high‑quality work.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage full end‑to‑end weekly and monthly payrolls for a range of organisations.

  • Set up and administer pension schemes, including calculations and data submissions.

  • Build effective relationships with clients, understanding their needs and resolving queries.

  • Carry out reconciliations and manual payroll calculations when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working in payroll, ideally within a bureau or multi‑client environment.

  • Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple payrolls independently from start to finish.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook, plus an understanding of BACS processes.

  • Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑focused approach.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary in the region of £25,000–£28,000, depending on experience.

  • Hybrid working options after probation (37.5 hours per week).

  • 31 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas closure, plus the option to buy extra days.

  • Matched pension contributions.

  • Enhanced family‑friendly and sick pay benefits.

  • Employee wellbeing support, shopping discounts, cycle‑to‑work scheme, eye‑care and flu‑jab benefits, and paid volunteering days.
