About the role
One of the UK’s largest Police Forces are looking to recruit a permanent Finance Assistant to work within their Accounts department.
The opportunity:
This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position offers the opportunity to work from home up to four days per week.

You will be responsible for:
Monitoring budgets and controlling financial accounts, investigating and challenging unexpected transactions and liaising with other departments to resolve issues
Producing accurate financial information and reports
Working with senior managers to ensure accurate projections and to provide advice as necessary
Supporting the financial budgeting cycle including budget setting and financial planning.
Assisting with the submission of statistical data, statutory returns to the government, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations
Conducting internal reviews on finance processes and providing recommendations for improvements.
You will be working within an experienced Payroll department, providing you with the opportunity to develop your existing accounting abilities in a new setting. The culture of this team emphasises support and development. You will be joining a team of various backgrounds and ages.
What you need to have:
To either be working towards or have obtained your AAT qualification (or equivalent)
Prior experience working in a finance function
Excellent communication skills
Experience operating to strict deadlines
A good understanding of Microsoft Office
