Test Analyst

About the role

We’re recruiting a Test Analyst to join an established International Customer Communication company. The Successful candidate will perform a range of testing activities on Delivery and IT projects and changes across the clients business as well as liaising with and managing other test, development and management as well as clients, working in teams or individually.


Salary: £30,000

The role is 37.5hrs between Monday and Friday, with an office based in Leicester.



Role Description:

  • Assist and support the Test Lead in test planning activities

  • Perform analysis and design tasks including risk assessments, questions logs and static tests to create test conditions, scenarios and test scripts from the business requirements and technical documents

  • Use of traceability matrix and risk based approaches

  • Knowledge of technologies, methodologies, phases, functional vs. non-functional, automation as relevant to the job responsibility

  • Test execution, including recording and storage of accurate evidence and results analysi

  • Raise detailed and accurate defects and feed into the defect management process

  • Reporting progress, issues and risks to Test Lead or wider project teams, stakeholders and clients where applicable

  • Immediately raise potential failures or slippages in timeframes to Test Lead or management

  • Test closure activities

  • To complete all testing in accordance with the departmental strategy, policies and processes, and timescales

  • To ensure that comprehensive testing is undertaken to eliminate the risk of live failures, and to increase confidence in the delivered solution

  • Use test tools (where available) to minimise time and effort

  • To support the Production sites in the management of test output

  • To constantly review and suggest improvements to test standards and processes, identifying areas for improvement in all areas within the test team and in Lesson’s Learned sessions on project work

  • To build good working relations with internal teams and external customers

  • Seek priority clarification and understand business priorities

  • Following defined methodologies for change and projects

Role Requirements:

  • Understanding of the Company procedures and processes

  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt style to the relevant audience and give presentations

  • Strong organisational and effective time management skills

  • The ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities at the same time under pressure

  • Excellent team player while able to work individually

  • Ability to work well under pressure, whilst meeting deadlines

  • Must adhere to high quality standards

  • Ability to apply knowledge and experience in various business environments

  • Ability to work under own initiative
