CCW is the passionate independent voice, representing water consumers in England & Wales. We support thousands of people each year, providing free advice and support helping people to resolve their complaints with their water company in an easy, caring way. We champion everyone’s needs and interests, completing and showcasing research that influences water companies, government and the regulator to make change happen.
The Policy and Research Department is responsible for building our evidence base which in turn helps us to develop policies that benefit consumers. We do this by:
Conducting research with customers
Collecting and analysing comparative company data
Liaising with companies and monitoring their performance at a local level
Developing, testing, and agreeing policies
Influencing companies, regulators, and stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:
You’ll have responsibility for delivering research to support CCW’s Forward Work Programme initiatives and campaigns. Leading the Research function, you will identify and develop research solutions, ensuring the delivery of research, whilst guiding CCW on the findings and conclusions from research, potential effects on Policy, new research requirements and potential issues.
You will provide constructive input into proposals for research with consumers, the outputs of which will feed into CCW company policy for water customers.
A key element of this role is to challenge CCW to retain its evidence-based approach and ensure research is effectively communicated internally and with key stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for:
As aResearch Manager,you will be able to demonstrate:
Experience of working in customer research with differing research techniques
Research & policy development skills.
Ability to interpret research findings (both qualitative and quantitative)
Ability to represent CCW effectively with external stakeholders
Confidence in speaking in groups and at events where there may be differing views
A creative approach to problem solving
Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently
Willingness to travel around England and Wales
Flexibility to work occasionally outside normal office hours
Desirable
Educated to degree (or equivalent) level
Membership of the Market Research Society
Experience of working in a consumer environment on issues at national level
Knowledge of the water industry and/or utility regulation.
Salary & Benefits:
CCW offer a starting salary of £ 33,835 with the opportunity to increase your salary through performance up to £36,000.
