Procure to Pay Lead

About the role

Due to continued success, a large hospitality chain based in South Shields are looking to recruit a Procure to Pay Lead to work within their team on a permanent basis. This position reports to the Financial Accountant.

The opportunity:

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position offers the opportunity for hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

The purpose of this role is to implement Procure to Pay best practice in supplier invoices and payment processes.

You will be responsible for:

  • Correctly recording expenditure as it is incurred

  • Escalating processes and negotiations of payment options if necessary, in order to maintain a good cash outflow position

  • Supporting the monthly and year-end financial closures by maintaining the P2P records

  • Assisting the management accounts preparation by providing full details of prepayment and accruals

  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining schedules for key control accounts

You will be working within an experienced accounting department, providing you with the opportunity to develop your existing finance abilities in a new setting. The culture of this team emphasises support and development. You will be joining a team of various backgrounds and ages.

Your skills will be centered around the ability to prioritise your workload, attention to detail, strong numeracy skills, professionalism and most importantly, teamwork. We are looking for a candidate with previous experience working in an accounting environment, with detailed knowledge of accounting procedures, processes and legislation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Sage 200, but this will be taught. AAT support may be considered upon the completion of the probationary period.
