Payroll Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity to develop a new career, no experience needed in payroll, with full training given. If you’re working in finance and would like to move into payroll, or are early in your career and looking to make the next step, this role is an ideal opportunity to progress.
You must be a fast learner, excellent communicator and have an eye for detail, working to strict guidelines under our supervision.
The payroll team have over 30 years’ experience and look after over 250 payrolls for businesses from Newcastle to London, with clients ranging in size from 1 employee to 500.
The role will be based in the Newcastle Office.
In the role you will be involved in:
Preparing weekly and monthly payrolls for various clients, including submission to HMRC and pension regulators
Checking own inputs to ensure accuracy and using software to create paperless files for review.
Payroll processing incudes all elements of payroll, such as court orders, student loans, pensions deductions, auto enrolment notices and letters and answering queries from clients.
Ensuring data accuracy and quality of output is of the very highest standard.
What we are looking for:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines are essential, while remaining flexible and adaptable.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel
Be positive and committed to the Firm and its core values in dealings with both staff and clients.
