Marketing and Communications Officer

An exciting opportunity has come up with an ethical investment organisation. They are looking for a marketing and communications officer to join their marketing team.
Role:
Contribute to an integrated process of planning, review and development of appropriate marketing materials in print and digital formats for appropriate target audiences, with the aim to engage current and potential members and increase investment.
Responsibilities:
Support the development of the overarching Marketing and Communications Strategy
Support the Membership Engagement Team to develop and implement Marketing Communications Plans.
Ensure all marketing activity is clear and consistent and contains key messaging and appropriate tone, and is fully brand compliant.
Work with external suppliers on design and production of key Shared Interest marketing materials.
Provide copywriting support for communication materials across the organisation.
Support the Marketing and Communications Manager to deliver PR activity.
Plan and deliver multi-channel advertising campaigns, both online and offline.
Commission and co-ordinate international and UK content gathering
Identify eligible award schemes and write applications.
Support in the delivery and planning of regional and national events/campaigns.
Represent the organisation at internal and external meetings, increasing brand awareness and widening networks.
Monitor ROI of all marketing activity,
Monitor and update content on the website
Enhance the organisations profile through social media engagement, specifically Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram.
Provide marketing and communications support to all teams across the organisation
Ensure budget records are kept up to date.
Support HR department with internal communications
Requirements
Essential:
Exceptional organisational and planning skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Numerate with good Excel skills
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Experience working in the field of communications and ability to demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communications activities
Experience and understanding of CMS systems, Google Analytics and SEO.
Experience and understanding of social networking including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn.
Excellent copy-writing skills
Proven and demonstrable experience of editing and producing publications.
Familiarity with dealing with external design agencies, content gatherers and the briefing process
Understanding of brand/identity development
Ability to think innovatively and identify and develop opportunities
IT literate: Good knowledge of MS Office
Commitment to personal development, and willing to learn new skills
Desirable:
Experience of managing and maintaining budgeting records and databases
Experience in managing content gathering projects in the UK and internationally (in particular film and photography)
Event organisation and management experience.
Basic level/understanding of Spanish
Basic level/understanding of French
Good geographical awareness - in particular in Africa and Latin America
Education and Qualifications
Essential:
Fluency in English
GSCE English and Maths or equivalent
Educated to degree standard in a related discipline or equivalent practical experience
Limits of Authority
Within Society guidelines, policies and procedures the post holder will be expected to:
Submit all expense claims promptly
Gain line management approval for all purchases orders including agreeing travel in advance with line manager
