IT Support Technician

NRG is delighted to announce an exciting partnership with a thriving and rapidly growing IT Consultancy and Managed Service Provider (MSP) in their search for a skilled IT Support Technician. This role is an excellent opportunity to provide effective, timely, and professional support to their extensive client base.

Primarily Remote Work: Flexibility to work from home, with occasional travel to client sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 2nd line support for hardware, software, and network issues.

  • Deliver effective troubleshooting and problem-solving for Microsoft 365 environments, including Office applications, Entra, Intune, and Purview.

  • Support and configure virtualisation platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V.

  • Work with LAN & WAN technologies, including firewall configuration and network troubleshooting.

  • Leverage expertise in Microsoft Modern Workplace and Azure environments.

  • Manage and maintain remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools, particularly ConnectWise.

  • Handle cybersecurity tasks, including endpoint, email, and network security, as well as business continuity solutions.

  • Provide both remote and onsite support, maintaining a professional and client-focused demeanor.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, answering technical questions and offering guidance during onsite visits.

  • Ensure timely documentation and ticket management using PSA tools.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in hardware, software, and network support roles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including knowledge of Entra, Intune, and Purview.

  • Fundamental certifications in M365 and Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator).

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including Circo M (preferred), LAN & WAN technologies, and firewall configuration.

  • Expertise in virtualisation technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).

  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity across endpoints, email, network, and business continuity.

  • Proven experience in both help desk and onsite roles, with excellent client interaction skills.

  • Familiarity with RMM/PSA tools, particularly ConnectWise.

  • Leadership and communication skills to guide and mentor team members.

  • Experience in an MSP environment, managing a range of client needs and priorities.
