Inhouse Manufacturing Controller

About the role

One of the largest automotive organisations in the North East are looking for an Inhouse Manufacturing Controller to join their team on a permanent basis.If you are a driven candidate who is, or is close to, becoming qualified, this opportunity is perfect for you.

Working in the inhouse costs team, you will be a business partner of operational departments to support quality and timely reporting in a highly demanding business area.

This role has a salary of up to £50,000 plus an excellent range of benefits and opportunity for overtime.

Benefits include:

  • 39 hour working week- all hours over this paid at OT (time and a half Mon- Sat, double time Sunday) or accrued as TOIL

  • 26 days holiday

  • Pension- 3% employee/ 6% employer when you join, which can be instantly upgraded to 4/8% and 5/10% after 5 years’ service

The role:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager for the Plant, you will be working in a team of around 5, working closely with the teams Senior Controller.

Your key duties will include:

  • Prepare regular reporting for production and other plant departments

  • Business partner for production and other departments

  • Support preparation of forecasts and business plans

  • Work cross-functionally to deliver reporting and variance analysis

  • Prepare KPIs and management reports

  • Prepare labour and overhead costings in SAP and off system

  • Run and maintain regular cost allocation jobs in SAP and off system

  • Manage and maintain SAP static data

What you need:

  • Fully or part qualified accountant required

  • Experience of cost accounting desirable

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Access is desirable

  • Team work and flexibility essential to hit tight deadlines

  • Experience communicating financial information to non-finance people essential

  • Candidate must be proactive and keen to learn

  • SAP system experience desirable
