Credit Hire Fee Earner

About the role

Our client is recognised by the legal 500 and is ranked in the 2023 UK Edition for Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence. They are looking to recruit a fee earner to deal with fast-track credit hire litigation claims.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, working 9-5, Monday to Friday in the Newcastle office, with hybrid working available.

This role would suit someone who has experience as a fee earner or team leader.

About the role:

  • Check and review initial information.

  • Identify and process files to be rejected.

  • Update files and client database.

  • Liaise with witnesses and expert witnesses.

  • Negotiate with insurers, solicitors, courts and other agencies.

  • Consider information/ updates in relation to legal procedures and assessment of quantum, including analysis of credit hire issues and reports.

About you:

  • At least 1 years’ litigation experience and credit hire experience

  • Good knowledge of legal concepts and good draughting skills

  • Solid understanding of core liability, causation, consent, and quantum issues

  • Knowledge of legal procedure including issue and service of proceedings, directions timetables, experience in obtaining factual and expert evidence and trial preparation

  • Experience of drafting simple schedules of loss

  • Ability to liaise with Counsel and experts appropriately and professionally.
