About the role

A Washington-based company are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to work within their team on a permanent basis.

The opportunity:

• This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position is office based with flexible working.

You will be responsible for:

• Adopting a continuous improvement approach to budget holder knowledge and engagement with the budget setting and monitoring cycle.
• Working alongside delegated budget holders in the provision of a quality management accounting service in respect of information.
• Owning areas of responsibility, producing and analysing key financial information on performance across all budget headings escalating key areas of concern.
• Preparation and oversight of monthly budgetary control statements and other month end/year end processes in accordance with accounting requirements and to deadline
• Preparation of monthly control account reconciliations, quarterly and annual returns.
• Provision and development of enhanced reporting to budget holders using a variety of IT reporting tools (Excel, Business Objects, Collaborative Planning and ABS finance system).
• Regular liaison with Procurement Manager on contractual arrangements within areas of responsibility.
• Systems administrator of financial systems, eg. maintaining chart of accounts, ledger closure, access rights, reporting structures within finance system, PT-x (BACS transmission system)
