1st Line Support Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st line technical support to clients via phone, email, or remote tools.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).

  • Support and administer user accounts in Active Directory, managing password resets, user permissions, and basic configuration.

  • Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.

  • Escalate complex issues to 2nd Line Support when necessary, ensuring smooth handover and continued resolution.

  • Maintain and update client support tickets, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-ups.

  • Perform basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, printers, VPN, etc.).

  • Help with the setup and configuration of new devices and user onboarding.

  • Contribute to continuous service improvements, providing feedback on recurring issues and suggesting fixes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar 1st Line IT Support role or IT-related qualification.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).

  • Familiarity with Active Directory for user account management and permissions.

  • Basic understanding of Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11).

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with users of all technical levels.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams administration and SharePoint configuration.

  • Knowledge of basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
