Software Administrator

About the role

NRG is currently seeking a Software Administrator to join our client operating in the health and fitness sector. In this role, you will be instrumental in collecting and analysing business data to offer actionable insights and aid in decision-making. You will work closely with various departments, engaging with stakeholders to pinpoint reporting needs, construct strong data models, craft engaging visualizations, and provide actionable intelligence.

Key Duties:

Software Administration Responsibilities:

  • Set up, configure, and update software applications, such as databases, operating systems, EPOS, and enterprise software.

  • Keep a close watch on system performance, troubleshoot problems, and guarantee the reliability and security of software systems. Promptly report issues to third-party vendors and the company, ensuring clear expectations and reasonable resolution timelines.

  • Support IT, Membership, and Finance projects in transitioning legacy software to modern solutions. Maintain and enhance existing operational needs while accommodating business growth and emerging technology and processes.

Reporting and Data Analysis Responsibilities:

  • Aid the reporting team where required to extract, transform and load data from disparate sources to generate precise and in-detail reports.

  • Aid with reporting solution utilising data visualisation tools for instance Power Bi or Tableau in order deliver valuable information to stakeholders.

Documentation and Training Responsibilities:

  • Develop and update documentation for software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Offer technical assistance and guidance to end-users, addressing software-related queries.

Software Testing Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to create, develop, test, and maintain software applications and tools customized for specific business requirements.

  • Utilize diverse programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#) to enhance current applications, collaborate with third-party vendors, and introduce new features.

  • Facilitate the integration of third-party software and APIs into existing systems, expanding functionality and introducing new features. Coordinate with existing third-party suppliers to ensure a seamless transition to new software solutions.

  • Contribute to comprehensive testing and debugging of new software applications to guarantee superior quality and dependability.

The model candidate will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated expertise in software administration and reporting, preferably within the leisure or hospitality sector.

  • Expertise in utilizing analytical and reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C# for software development.

  • Familiarity with database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL.

  • Knowledge of testing procedures, system monitoring, and performance optimization methods.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
