Job Title: Senior PHP Developer
Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)

NRG is thrilled to announce that we have partnered with a highly regarded Health and Fitness industry brand as they seek a talented Software Developer. This presents an exciting prospect, given our client's substantial growth in their Software Development team. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the in-house transition of their core membership system, contributing significantly to this expansion.
We are in search of a proficient PHP and MySQL Developer to join our clients dynamic team. As a PHP and MySQL Developer, Your main role will involve crafting, building, and upholding PHP-driven web applications and MySQL databases essential for facilitating business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
Develop custom PHP applications and modules tailored to business requirements, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
Enhance MySQL databases through schema design, indexing, and query optimization for improved efficiency.
Perform data migration tasks to facilitate seamless transfer and synchronization across diverse systems and databases.
Integrate third-party APIs and services to augment the functionality of existing applications.
Produce well-documented, maintainable code in adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Conduct comprehensive unit testing and debugging to swiftly identify and resolve software issues.
Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback on code quality, performance, and adherence to standards.
Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, addressing PHP application and MySQL database-related issues effectively.
Requirements:
Demonstrate proficiency in the PHP programming language, including object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns.
Exhibit a solid understanding of MySQL database fundamentals, SQL query optimization, and database normalisation.
Ideally, have experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter.
Proficiency with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX.
Commercial knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
Possess excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Agile development methodologies is considered advantageous.
