About the role
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join one of the largest and most successful housing providers in the North East.
This is a permanent role based in County Durham
The opportunity:
The successful candidate will carry out a key role, managing and developing the procurement team; leading on the delivery and contributing to strategic development of excellent, efficient and compliant procurement across the business.
Experience of working in public procurement and within the public procurement framework, is essential.
You will:
Understand the business requirements and recommend the most cost effective and efficient process to procure within the boundaries of public procurement.
Meet or exceed performance targets to ensure continually improving operational performance. To ensure procurement services meet customer expectations and priorities and that customers have opportunities to influence service delivery.
Manage and develop the procurement team.
Deliver excellent, consistent and responsive procurement management services.
Effectively represent and promote the Group to other external bodies and stakeholders at meeting, special project groups and in the day to day execution of duties and responsibilities.
Maintain and develop the Group’s Procurement Strategy and policy and ensure compliance with this and all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to raising the companies profile in your service area, developing a network of suitable contacts amongst organisations and individuals likely to assist in achieving the company’s vision.
Ensure that core policies relating to standards of behaviour, equality and diversity, customer care, people management, data protection and health and safety are fully implemented, along with an appropriate system for identifying , appraising and managing risks in your service area.
