About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Administrator to join a prestigious, North East based University on a temporary contract, potentially up to 1 year.
The Opportunity
To join a small team to deliver financial services necessary to support activities within the Maths and Physics departments, particularly around learning, teaching and research. You may also be required to assist with other duties within the faculty.
You will:
Provide a responsive support service for stakeholders.
Focus on checking stakeholder requirements to ensure the delivery of excellence.
Record data and information accurately and provide reports.
Operate a booking and enquiry service and process requests.
Assist team members to organise, plan and prepare for events, meetings and activities.
Liaise with external suppliers and specialists to ensure products are sourced correctly and invoices paid.
Responsible for raising invoices, journal/recharge transactions and Requests for Payments.
Place orders using Acquire and/or international consignment of items.
Deliver packages from suppliers (manual handling).
There will be times that you may need to assist other departments with tasks outside of your job role - flexibility and being a team player is a must.
You will have:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office
Relevant administrative experience in a busy office environment
Experience of working on the front line with service delivery, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong communication and organisation skills as you will be managing a shared mailbox

A salary of £21,630 (pro rata)
27 days annual leave per year in addition to 8 public holidays and 4 customary days per year (pro rata)
