Employee Relations Manager

Are you a HR Specialist who enjoys managing a team?

An international organisation with offices in Newcastle are looking for an Employee Relations superstar.

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.

Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and a hybrid working model.

About the Role

Working in the HR department, you will report directly to the HR Director and be a key member of the HR Team with responsibility for facilitating employee relations and resolving HR issues on behalf of the company from a startup perspective.

As Employee Relations Manager you will have two direct reports, a team of two Employee Relations Advisors, and will work closely with the HRBP team to provide advice, guidance and support. You will be an expert on the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a high-quality service to employees and managers.

Employee Relations Manager:

  • Lead and develop the ER team to deliver a high-quality service across the full employee lifecycle.

  • Manage and be the point of escalation on various ER queries throughout the company, working in conjunction with the HR services and other stakeholders.

  • Support the ER team and HR Business Partners with complex employee relations issues.

  • Create and improve processes associated with HR policy and employee relations issues

  • Train managers on specific ER topics.

  • Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients and continually search for ways to increase client satisfaction.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for Home Office sponsorship.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and how to practically apply it within a fast-paced organisation.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Analytical with good attention to detail when reviewing data and processes.

  • High computer literacy including advanced skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Professional Qualifications and Education

  • Chartered CIPD (or equivalent)
