About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join an established national firm of chartered accountants whom make up a specialist tax advisory practice to provide innovative and bespoke tax solutions. Any successful candidate will undertake a detailed and comprehensive internal training programme to ensure they are fully understanding of any tax advisory work being carried out by the firm. With the opportunity to develop themselves professionally being available.
This role will be based in the Newcastle Office.
Salary: £28,000 - £40,000
As an Advisor your role will include:
Maintaining and being responsible for your own portfolio of clients in respect of which the firm is engaged to provide tax advisory assistance and as part of the wider tax advisory team
Providing advice on a range of tax advisory projects including:
- assisting clients with the implementation of any associated arrangements
- assisting clients and their advisers with any related compliance requirements from both an accounting and tax perspective
- assisting clients and their advisers in dealing with any related enquiries that HM Revenue & Customs may raise
- managing client and adviser queries from a technical, practical and commercial perspective
Working directly with both Directors and Associate Directors of the firm to deliver the diverse and innovative range of tax solutions that we can offer to clients and their advisers
Developing and growing professional relationships with both clients and advisers across the UK through effective and efficient account management
Being given the opportunity to develop your skill set (both technically and commercially) to ensure successful career development
You will:
Have a clear desire to work in a dedicated tax advisory role (which may be different from previous roles should they have been in accounting, audit, financial management, compliance, reporting etc)
Ideally hold a current accountancy or tax qualification (ACA / ACCA / ATT / CTA)
Possess strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
Have the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external contacts
Have the ability to understand and relay complex technical concepts
Have the ability to show initiative and highlight issues as they arise
Have the ability to work both as part of a team and independently (as the circumstances dictate) to ensure both personal and team deadlines are met
Be self-motivated and possess a strong personal drive to succeed
The ability to deliver excellent client service
A strong academic background
