Senior SEO Strategist

About the role

Our client, a search and social agency, are looking for a Senior SEO Strategist to join them in their Newcastle upon Tyne office.

Role

  • Become the main day-to-day point of contact for SEO performance and strategy across a portfolio of clients to cultivate positive long-lasting relationships with senior stakeholders, maintaining a high level of understanding of client business objectives.

  • Deliver results to clients and support with the development of our SEO offering as an agency.

  • Build and maintain close alignment with the Client Services and Sales team to identify and manage potential upsell opportunities.

  • Supporting, contributing and leading in sales pitches that will inform the overall client strategy.

  • Responsible for defining, developing and managing client strategies across an allocated client base, working closely with other departments.

  • Lead the execution of client SEO strategies and be responsible for overall performance.

  • Develop and define client-related SEO objectives, and monitor performance in-line with this.

  • Work closely with the Operations team to effectively allocate internal resources to maximise client results and opportunities.

  • Ensure any risk to business revenue is flagged and work with the Head of SEO and Client Services team to mitigate this.

  • Create, manage and deliver client reports, in line with objectives.

  • Take ownership of internal projects to help support business growth.

  • Contribute to marketing activity through blogs, insights and case studies.

  • Help support and coach other members within the department and also the wider business and be seen as a thought leader.

  • Keep up to date on wider industry developments, and use your insights to help inform processes and strategies and support the Head of SEO in providing innovative solutions to aid departmental and agency progression based on the overarching annual strategy.

  • Responsible for assisting the Head of SEO with the training of newer team members, as well as cross-departmental training where required.

  • Strong experience within an SEO strategy role or similar.

  • Demonstrable experience working on SEO campaigns.

  • Experience with various SEO tools and applications.

  • Thorough experience with Analytics platforms (GA4 and Google Search Console)

  • Fantastic knowledge and understanding of SEO, its algorithms and history.

  • Experience working with third-parties such as developers/designers and other stakeholders.

  • Preferred: Experience working with Paid, Social, CRO and Analytics teams.
