Personal Tax Manager (Compliance)

About the role

Personal Tax Manager

Permanent | Full or Part-Time | Edinburgh, Glasgow or Remote

About the Opportunity

We're working with a well-respected and forward-thinking professional services firm to help them appoint an experienced Personal Tax Manager. With one of the largest tax teams outside of the Big Four in Scotland, they offer a dynamic, people-first environment and a strong focus on delivering high-quality service across a broad and diverse client base.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated tax professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is looking to take the next step in their career with a flexible, growing firm.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of private clients, leading the delivery of personal tax compliance work, and playing a key role in supporting the wider team. Duties will include:

  • Overseeing the preparation and review of personal tax returns for a varied client base.

  • Acting as a main point of contact for client queries and providing ad hoc compliance-related advice.

  • Identifying opportunities to add further value through additional services or insights.

  • Coaching and supporting junior team members.

  • Contributing to process improvement and helping drive operational efficiencies.

  • Playing an active role in maintaining a strong and supportive team culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in personal tax compliance, ideally within a professional services environment.

  • Confidence managing client relationships and delivering clear, insightful advice.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach and good attention to detail.

  • A professional qualification (ATT, CTA, or CA) is desirable, but strong experience will also be considered.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Location & Flexibility

The firm offers a fully flexible, hybrid working model. You can be based remotely (Scotland-based), or work from their offices in Edinburgh or Glasgow, with occasional in-person team meetups and client meetings as needed.
