People Assistant

About the role

We are currently seeking a People Assistant to join a professional services firm based in Newcastle to cover maternity leave.

Hybrid and flexible working are available.

The opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a People Administrator or Assistant to join a HR function to work with members of the wider people team. You will support the People team and be assigned to a defined sub-region of the organisation.

You will:

  • Provide support with employee relations processes to managers and leaders.

  • Supporting with onboarding of new staff.

  • Manage sickness absence, and updating people records.

  • Monitoring and addressing absence trends.

  • Analyse and report data.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and members of the people team

  • Collaborate with the Partnering Team to understand local business needs.

  • Support with changes in policies as and when the arise.

  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide high-quality support for the people team.
