About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join an established national public sector firm providing an excellent payroll service to over 100,000 employees. This role provides a great opportunity to grow internally and further your progression in a payroll career.
As Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for responsible for processing payments for approximately 1300 employees – both weekly and monthly cycles.
This role has a salary between £25,000 and £28,000 involving hybrid working.

The role:
Responsible for all salaries, wages, personal expenses, and pension administration processing for a section of staff in accordance with procedures, financial timescales and legal requirements.
Operating the computer based payrolling system.
Maintaining all documentation and records pertaining to the section.
Investigating and answering queries both written and verbal.
What you need:
5 GCE O Levels, including English and
Mathematics or NVQ level 2 equivalent. NVQ Level 4/ AAT/ Foundation Qualification in Payroll & Pensions or equivalent experience.
Significant experience working in a payroll environment.
Detailed knowledge of payroll procedures, processes & legislation.
Detailed knowledge of Computerised Payroll System.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Written, oral communication, organisational skills.
Arithmetic and
