Our client is a leading organisation in their industry, dedicated to guiding businesses of all sizes, from SMEs to global organisations in purchasing their energy contracts. They are currently seeking a talented Financial Controller to join their team.

Location: Gateshead

Salary: £50,000

Job Description:

Reporting into the Finance Manager, as a Management Accountant you will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation by leading the Management Accounts team in the production of the monthly management accounts and other team accountabilities.

As a Management Accountant you will:

  • Team & Line Management:

    • Manage, mentor, and develop two Assistant Management Accountants and a Finance Assistant.

    • Work alongside and liaise

      with other teams, finance, and non-finance.

  • Reporting:

    • Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, with insightful commentary and analysis.

    • Produce

      the Group consolidated accounts.

    • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of any issues.

    • Report key monthly

      KPIs.

    • Assist the Finance Manager in areas such as forecasting.

  • VAT:

    • Process and submit

      quarterly VAT returns in the UK and Malta.

  • Liaise and assist with external auditors.

  • Liaise with the French accountant in the Paris office.

  • Provide advice to the purchase ledger department regarding invoice GL coding.

  • Operate and improve internal controls within the finance function.

  • Carry out financial analysis and project work.

About you:

  • Newly/Fully Qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA

  • Experience of meeting tight deadlines

  • Excellent excel skills

  • Experience of SAP By design

  • International company experience
