Finance Business Partner

About the role

An organisation delivering essential services for children and families is seeking a Finance Business Partner to play a key role in supporting service delivery and long-term financial sustainability.

The Role

Reporting to a senior finance lead, this role is responsible for partnering with operational teams, managing a payments function, and providing high-quality financial insight to support decision-making across children’s services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budget monitoring reports.

  • Ensuring budget holders are fully supported and informed on financial performance.

  • Leading annual budget setting and business planning processes.

  • Reviewing, improving, and maintaining financial processes, controls, and systems (including ERP/financial systems).

  • Maximising income and funding streams across the organisation.

  • Managing and developing a payments team.

  • Leading the development and application of financial regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Providing clear financial advice and guidance to non-finance stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent).

  • Have strong Excel and financial modelling capability.

  • Bring experience in management accounting, forecasting, and business partnering.

  • Ideally have prior people-management experience.

  • Be motivated by work that improves outcomes for children and young people.

Working Pattern

  • 37 hours per week.

  • Core hours Monday to Thursday, with a shorter working day on Friday.

  • Hybrid working, with a minimum of two days per week in the office (West Midlands area).
