We’re looking for a Technical Commercial Director to join a company based in Teesside who are experiencing continued success.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven success within an engineering organisation.

 

As Commercial Director you will plan, develop and implement commercial strategies. This is very much a hands-on role which will also involve the handling of technical sales enquiries and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement national and international commercial strategies to generate new enquiries and development opportunities for the company’s products.

  • Achieve profitable growth in line with company goals and objectives.

  • Raise the company profile in the world-wide dry bulk market.

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the product range, services and markets.

  • Monitor and report on market and competitor activities.

  • Identify what opportunities are available in terms of product and marketplace.

  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics.

  • Respond to engineering enquiries, produce quotations, lead commercial negotiations and negotiate customer contracts.

  • Manage, train and motivate the existing commercial team and external agents.

  • Evaluate, improve and maintain efficient sales office procedures.

  • Overseas visits to represent the company and products to new and existing customers.

About you

  • An engineering degree or equivalent is desirable.

  • Proven experience and a wide range of commercial expertise, ideally in a Manufacturing or Engineering SME.

  • Strong and influential commercial leadership.

  • Contract negotiation and project management skills.

  • Ability to present technical proposals and solutions with significant experience and in-depth knowledge of contract negotiation.

  • Flexible to travel overseas as and when required.
