The Auckland Project is dedicated to the regeneration, conservation, and celebration of the stories and heritage of the former home of the Prince Bishops of Durham. For the past ten years, its regeneration charity has sought to create sustainable, commercial opportunities that will drive investment into Bishop Auckland and the surrounding County Durham area.
With over 35 pipeline projects underway the inspirational team at The Auckland Project already successfully run a number of world class attractions including:- Auckland Castle, the Mining Art Gallery, the Weardale Railway, the newly opened Spanish Gallery and a Faith Museum – the first of its kind to contemplate the history of faith in Britain and what it means in the present day.
We are currently seeking interest for the role of Head of Marketing & Communications. This role will lead the strategic direction for all marketing activity across The Auckland Project sites in order to drive attendance and achieve ambitious visitor targets.
You will build and lead a Marketing and Communications Team to deliver multi-platform, content-rich campaigns that achieve TAP’s purpose and business objectives. Working with other Heads of Department you will develop a tone of voice and communication commensurate with The Auckland Project with a particular focus on acquisition, retention and development of audiences across the venues, working collaboratively with other colleagues across the organisation.
You will also establish working relationships with other regional attractions and tourism bodies to promote Bishop Auckland, County Durham and the North East as a regional, national and international destination. As Head of Marketing and Communications you will champion and embed a strong audience focus throughout TAP. The role will suit someone who identifies with TAP’s purpose and who is looking for an exciting opportunity in a new and fast-paced visitor destination.
