We’re working with a leading engineering company in Newcastle to recruit a Business Systems Developer to assist in the support and development of the company’s highly regarded ERP software.

The role is based in the Quorum Business Park and allows for flexibility within work hours for personal responsibilities like childcare, etc.

The shift pattern would be 07:30 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 – 12:30 Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with end users and stakeholders to understand business requirements

  • Work with senior team members to develop solutions in line with requirements

  • Develop reports, program units and analytics, and accompanying documentation

  • Support/maintain all deployed business systems

  • Challenge existing processes/procedures where required

  • Develop solutions that provide additional benefits to the business

  • Analyse business data and create reports and models


Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • You must have experience of SQL; language, fundamentals and development processes

  • You would preferably have experience in the web development field using JavaScript, HTML and CSS

  • It would be advantageous to have experience with reporting and analysis tools such as Crystal reports and SSRS or similar

  • Experience in data mining, ETL and analytics would be a bonus

  • Service/help desk experience would be advantageous

  • An understanding of computer architecture would be desirable
