Our client has an excellent opportunity for a talented, innovative Project Manager to become part of a leading designer, manufacturer and global provider of subsea cables and umbilical systems. Due to growth, they are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic, highly motivated candidate, who will ultimately help to them to continue grow and expand their product portfolio.
Reporting to the Senior Projects Manager, you will provide Project Management input to support the Sales, Technical and Manufacturing teams. You will work with a team of Project Managers and Engineers that are approachable, focused on continuous improvement and hard at work to provide Project Management support that meet or exceed their customer’s expectations. Our client places great emphasis on developing strong and long-term relationships with their clients, therefore excellent soft skills are a MUST for this role.
Project managing orders from PO arrival all the way to final completion, delivery and cash collection
Handle commissions of varying sizes, depending upon the complexity of the project, etc. Values ranging from £50k to £1.5 million
Managing multiple projects ranging between 3-10 projects depending on complexity of each.
Carrying out kick-off meetings in a timely manner to ensure requirements of the customer and business are met without delays
Collating project schedules from the onset of the project and ensuring all teams are meeting deadlines accordingly
Monitoring change within the schedule and communicating to the relevant teams where necessary
Managing clients’ expectations on a day to day basis, ensuring their requirements are met
Identifying project risks such as long lead items and capturing these within the plan
Maintaining communication with the procurement team to ensure goods/materials are arriving as per project schedule dates
Collating weekly/bi-weekly reports
Managing document control effectively throughout the project
Qualifications and Skills
• 2 years + experience in a customer facing Project Manager role
• Degree/HND in any Engineering discipline
• Relevant experience preferably from manufacturing/engineering background
• Project Management qualifications will be advantageous but not essential
• Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
• Team player
• Excellent soft skills
Working hours are 08:30-17:00 (1 hour for lunch).
