Purpose of the role
To provide input and deliver creative communications plans to help measure success, as well as to promote and position the network and its associated Work Programmes to staff, Member Organisations and other stakeholder.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure that colleagues understand, and contribute to, communications objectives, and to ensure that the Communications Team also have a sound appreciation of the work being carried out so that they can appropriately position the messages being delivered.
Engage effectively with external stakeholders and commercial partners, including national stakeholders, to support attainment of the network objectives.
Work closely with colleagues in the Communications team to ensure that mailing lists are kept up to date, as well as being in line with data protection regulations.
Represent the network at internal and external events, meetings and conferences.
Be involved in the development and creation of bespoke communications collateral such as presentations, case studies, brochures, event support materials, films, animations etc., that reinforce key messages, and highlight impact, value, and the achievements.
Support the implementation and management of the national and regional brand identities, in line with guidance with appropriate stakeholders.
Support the development and delivery of the website of the network as well as any films, podcasts, social media activity and communications campaigns.
Support the delivery of both internal and external events and conferences.
Educated to degree level or equivalent or possessing equivalent experience.
In-depth knowledge of creating and managing communications activities to position and promote a range of complex messages to a variety of audiences.
Skills and Experience
Experience of communicating difficult and sometimes challenging information both orally and in writing, to an array of audiences.
Proven experience of delivering a full range of communications activities across both online channels (including social media platforms such as twitter, LinkedIn or Facebook) and offline channels.
Ability to create content for online and offline communications materials.
Experience of copyrighting for communications media to effectively interact with and influence, a diverse range of individuals.
Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, and the ability to balance project development requirements with day to day operational needs
Proven written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to achieve agreed goals.
The ability to communicate and interact with colleagues
The ability to work well both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent IT skills, including competent use of Microsoft Office.
