NRG are working with a leading education institution to recruit an experienced, highly knowledgeable Network Engineer to replace a retired member of staff. They are looking for someone to take a post that is very varied, in the day to day, with an eye to a large datacentre and facilities transformation taking place over the next 4 years. As such candidates should be able to hit the ground running and integrate into the small but flexible team seamlessly using their established knowledge base regarding Aruba, Citrix and project leading & participation.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • To integrate seamlessly into the small network team onsite and be capable of carrying out the role with minimal guidance.

  • Have an excellent understanding of network systems and be able to work autonomously.

  • Expect a varied day to day involvement with various projects, BAU tasks, solution requests/issues and working with other teams.

  • Work well as part of a well-established team of network specialists.

  • Be capable of participating in a large four-year transformation with minimal guidance using the onsite network equipment (see below).

  • Use Excellent communication skills to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.

  • Monitor existing network equipment and resolve any issues that arise appropriately.

 

Required Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Design both wired/wireless networks (including Wifi Surveys).

  • Configure and deploy Cisco and Aruba network equipment efficiently from the get-go. (Configure & deploy Fortinet products, Palo Alto firewalls and Citrix ADC’s.

  • Understand IPv4/IPV6, DNS, DHCP (manage and configure Inflobox appliances too).

  • Be capable with network security investigation and forensics.

  • Switches, network controllers, ClearPass).

  • Network Routing and switching (VXLAN, BGF, OSPF, VRF ACL).

  • Capable of leading projects form a technical perspective.
