Our clients looking for a Head of Planning & Logistics, 

As a growing business you will be responsible for advising the Supply Chain and Planning Director on strategy for both production planning and logistics and executing agreed plans in this area.

Primary Responsibilities:

·Providing direction to the planning team to ensure a logical and efficient production plan is maintained

·Provide direction to the Warehouse team to ensure that material flows efficiently through the factory with no negative implications for production or customers.

·Demonstrate a programme of continuous improvement to enhance performance in all areas of accountability

·Work closely with the Procurement Team and the supply chain to improve material presentation from off site subassemblies to pre-kitted materials to create efficient lineside delivery solutions.

·Work with our Business Dynamics Team to ensure that our ERP solution is maintained and improved inventory management.

·Work with colleagues to develop appropriate systems and procedures for planning and logistics (including software development requirements)

·Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders, customers and external providers

·Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets

Personal Specifications: Qualifications & Training:

·Degree qualified

·Supply Chain and/or Logistics qualification

·Lean or Six Sigma qualification with a demonstrable track record of using the tools.


·Working with production planning systems

·Extensive experience of material flow strategy, through the supply chain, warehouse, into manufacturing and management of finished goods.

·Working in a fast paced, lean, JIT environment, particularly in terms of warehouse management and material presentation.

·Production Planning and S&OP experience, ideally in a Microsoft Dynamics environment

·Experience in planning and logistics, ideally in a large-scale manufacturing business

·Working in a production environment where your contribution to the success of the business is critical

·Experience of working in an environment with complex multi-level BOMs with material replenishment quantities that do not match the BOM is desirable.
