Our client is a rapidly expanding, innovative and dynamic, organisation. Due to growth and demand they are looking to recruit an experienced Technical Training Manager. You will be based in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that all employees have the right skills and capabilities to fulfil their role and maximise their potential.

 

You will have previous experience in a manufacturing environment and preferably experience or knowledge of the construction industry as will be primarily responsible for ensuring compliance to relevant Health & Safety requirements in both our factory and construction sites.

 

The Technical Training Manager will be the primary point of contact for all skills-related matters across the business and will be instrumental in developing their Skills Academy and Apprenticeship programme.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage skills matrices for all roles, concentrating primarily on factory and construction roles

  • Ensure all employees have requisite technical skills to fulfil their roles in a safe and compliant manner

  • Manage training records to ensure all training is documented and available for audit, compliance and development purposes

  • Develop strong relationships with the senior leadership team in factory and construction to ensure training is in line with functional and business strategy

  • Lead our apprenticeship programme, working in partnership with our Apprenticeship Service Provider, to ensure it is developed and managed in line with EFSA guidelines and business needs.

  • Work with HRBP team to ensure Company Induction programme is fit for purpose and provides all minimum requirements for all roles.

  • Work closely with Health & Safety function to ensure all training is compliant and in line with H&S regulations.

 

Qualifications & Training:

 

  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role in manufacturing or construction

 

Experience

  • Must have experience in a manufacturing, construction or engineering environment

  • Significant experience in a similar technical training role

  • Significant H&S and/or compliance training experience

  • Experience of leading and coaching managers

  • Line Management experience is advantageous
