Our international automotive manufacturing client is looking for Senior Metrology Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
Job Role
Ability to use and produce programmes for Portable CMM Arms and Non- Contact Scanning Systems for the measurement of automotive components
Undertake regular and on off trial measurement studies, using SPC tools to analyse the data to identify trends and production stability issues
Reporting, fault finding and analysis of daily data to ensure we supply parts to customer requirements
Co-Ordinate Gauge R&R studies and results for new measurement gauges
Generate gauge / check fixture specification and agree with customer
Calibration of checking fixtures to ensure consistency between gauges
Presentation of dimensional results to customer during build status events or ongoing production
Skills/Experience
Experience of automotive quality tools, techniques and systems such as PPAP, 8D’s, SPC, GD&T, Statistical data analysis, GR&R
Experience or knowledge of IATF16949:2006 and relevant customer specific requirements
Computer and data collection system literacy, analysis and presentation
Experience of quality /process audits
Ability to work on own initiative with little supervision
Ability to form effective working relationships with internal/external customers and suppliers
