We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Information Specialist to join our client’s team in Newcastle on a fixed term basis (16 months maternity cover).
Our client provides cost-effective healthcare appraisal toolkits and medical best practice solutions to GPs, Hospital Doctors and Nurses, with the aim to improve clinical standards and patient safety
Main purpose of the role
As an Information Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality information for the development and maintenance of the clinical content for Clinical Knowledge Summaries (CKS) and Prodigy.
Authoring minor updates/minor reviews of clinical topics as agreed with the Clinical Editor
Proofreading/editing of topic reviews, correcting style, grammar and typographical errors along with raising any ambiguous clinical detail with the topic author/Clinical Editor
Contribute to the smooth operation of data collection, analysis and reporting systems for the company’s product development and service delivery portfolio
Contribute to the company strategy by producing quality, evidence-based information, which will be used to improve patient care and to promote the Clarity brand to attract future business
Sorting and organising information in a content management system and assisting with any content updates/quality assurance issues within the in-house content authoring and management tool
Experience in summarising and authoring clinical information along with experience in proofreading and quality checking written information to a defined style
Strong IT skill is required and an aptitude with audio-visual technology would be an asset
An interest or experience in contributing to the design of content management systems would be advantageous
Demonstrate good attention to detail with a thorough and methodical/systematic approach to tasks
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in either a health/science-related degree or information management or related studies is preferred but not essential
