NRG are looking to recruit a part time Management Accountant to work 25 hours per week, over 4 or 5 days depending on your preference. This is a maternity cover and therefore will be a 13 month FTC to commence Tuesday 10th March and conclude Friday 9th April 2021. There will be a hand over period to ensure a smooth transition into our close-knit and vibrant finance team.


The Role


Salary – upto £25k full time equivalent (depending on experience), pro-rated for working 25 hours per week


To lead the preparation of accurate monthly accounts for submission to the Finance Director and manage the supplier payment process.


Support the Finance Director with all finance related tasks.


Key Responsibilities


  • Production and analysis of month end accounts

    • Calculate and post prepayments and accruals

    • Prepare and analysis of month end reports

    • Reconciliation of Balance Sheet Accounts

    • Reconciliation of fixed asset accounts and depreciation calculations


  • Manage supplier payment process

    • Purchase order approval

    • Invoice coding, approval and posting

    • Payment of supplier invoices

    • Employee expenses


  • Co-ordinate annual audit to ensure compliance

    • Assist in preparation of annual accounts and tax return


  • Payroll process

    • Posting of payroll payments (advances, attachment of earnings, ) on to accounts system

    • Prepare and post weekly and monthly payroll journal

    • Calculate and review staff bonus calculations

    • Import and post customer invoices from payroll system


  • Production and analysis of management reports

    • Weekly margin reports

    • Daily operational reports

    • Create and analyse ad hoc reporting


  • Cash flow forecasting and reconciliation of bank statements


  • Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budget


  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT return and payments


  • National Statistics Forms




  • General knowledge of accounting principles

  • Experience of Accounts Payable processes

  • Experience of Microsoft Excel, able to create and interpret spread sheets

  • Organised and work to deadlines

  • Attention to detail
