HR Officer

We are recruiting an HR Officer for a global leader based in Ashington on a part time basis 30 hours per week.

As HR Officer you will effectively manage all issues relating to Human Resources, whilst building and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure HR is able to support the overall business objectives.

Responsibilities / Key Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of recruitment and selection including application, interviewing, referencing and induction processes

  • Prepare contracts of employment, variations and any other contractual changes

  • Always Manage the disciplinary and grievance procedures ensuring compliance

  • To maintain your own Continuous Personal Development in line with HR and employment law knowledge and best practice

  • Performance management, including all annual appraisals and reviews

  • Preparation of Corporate Monthly HR Reports

  • Conduct exit interviews for all leavers

  • Partner with management team to deliver key business processes, including salary planning, resourcing, employee development and engagement

  • Effectively manage absence, ensuring a consistent approach, using the Bradford Score

  • Advise, guide and coach management on employment law and ER issues

  • Council and support employees

  • Manage all learning and development processes, including the production skills matrix

  • Maintain the Employee Handbook, ensuring all policy and procedural changes are legal and effectively implemented and communicated

  • Manage and maintain the Investors in People processes and initiatives

  • Manage the HR information system, ensuring data is updated and maintained accurately

  • Monthly payroll amendments including starters/leavers/additional payments etc.

  • Negotiating and reviewing contracts with external recruitment partners and training providers

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • CIPD qualification (either fully qualified or working towards)

  • A background of working in a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of employment law and best practice

  • High level of confidentiality & professionalism

  • A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge

  • Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word & Excel

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills – at all levels

  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Project Management skills
