NRG are working with a higher education provider in Newcastle to recruit an experienced Business Analyst.


With a focus on transformational change, the successful candidate will be responsible for the investigation, analysis, review and documentation of business functions including processes, policies, people, data and technology.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Analyst with significant exposure to project and change management and working with senior stakeholders in large complex organisations.


This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience of business analysis, project and change management within large complex organisations.


Essential skills and experience required:



  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of business architecture, processes, project & change management relating to Higher Education or an appropriate equivalent.

  • Excellent knowledge and experience of analytical techniques, business improvement concepts and methodologies, and requirements management

  • Good knowledge of project management and planning

  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to initiate, develop and maintain internal and external relationships, and influence at executive levels

  • Strong numeracy skills in compiling and interpreting statistical data, ability to source, analyse and present financial information

  • Constructing and documenting detailed process flow diagrams with a critical eye towards potential improvements and efficiency gains.

  • Experience of working in the role of Business Analyst or Business Architect within a large, complex and diverse organisation

  • Experience of working with directors, senior managers and stakeholders.

  • Planning, prioritising and organising own work and supporting the work of other staff

  • Analysing and recommending solutions to problems that are complex and will have short, medium to long term impact and consequences

  • Hands on experience of employing recognised business improvement and project management techniques e.g. root cause analysis, BPM, agile / waterfall, DMAIC, Lean etc.

  • Hands on experience of employing recognised software e.g. Microsoft Project, Visio, Trello etc.

  • Accreditation in a relevant process analysis/improvement methodology e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN2, ITIL
